frtyfv has been posting amazing photographs by photojournalist Sebastiao Salgado.
This is such a wonderful quote, I hate the picture’s dull colours, though…

Neuschwanstein Castle is a 19th-century Bavarian palace on a rugged hill near Hohenschwangau and Füssen in southwest Bavaria, Germany. The palace was commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria as a retreat and as an homage to Richard Wagner, the King’s inspiring muse. The conception of the palace was outlined by Ludwig II in a letter to Richard Wagner, dated May 13, 1868:
It is my intention to rebuild the old castle ruin at Hohenschwangau near the Pollat Gorge in the authentic style of the old German knights’ castles… the location is the most beautiful one could find, holy and unapproachable, a worthy temple for the divine friend who has brought salvation and true blessing to the world.I can’t believe how beautiful this castle is. Public photography of the interior is not permitted, but the Internet is your friend.

A few days ago, I started to do a little research* on elephants and primarily, their behaviour. I’ve found out they’re really interesting and intelligent animals. I learned that:
- Elephants are the largest land animals now living.
- They typically live for 50 to 70 years.
- They are a symbol of wisdom in Asian cultures and are famed for their memory and intelligence, where they are thought to be on par with cetaceans and hominids.
- According to Aristotle, the elephant is “the beast which passeth all others in wit and mind”.
- Elephants have cycles of tooth rotation throughout their entire life.
- Elephants live in a structured social order. The females spend their entire lives in tightly knit matriarchal family groups made up of mothers, daughters, sisters, and aunts.
- Elephants recognise the fact that the image in the mirror is their own self and such abilitiy is considered the basis for empathy, altruism and higher social interactions.
Now that the elephant is my 2nd favourite animal, I wrote a wannabe poem which is the reason for this post. The world-changing ultra-creative title is “Elephant”.
I’ll ride a black elephant
To the edge of the world
He and I will get lost
We’ll never come back home
I’ll build a nest with wool
And I’ll sleep throughout the day
I’ll wake up with the moon
And with a sword I’ll find my way
I’m not afraid of monsters
I know I can be one
I kill with guns and drink blood
I’m nowhere to be found
My elephant and I stomp our feet
We shake the ground
No monster will forbid us to
Break the quietness of the night
I setup a bonfire
Burning pieces of my hands
We rest warmly in our nest
Till the moon comes out headfirst
We walk until we fall out of the surface of the earth
We float until the end of times
In the dark I lose my way
I’m not afraid of darkness
The void is in my head
She left a black hole in my heart
Now it’s floating in the space
My elephant and I dance in the darkness
With dead stars
No monster steals my heart and then escapes without a wound
No monster will escape from us, Elephant & I
